We are seeking a talented and creative Architect to join our dynamic team. It is key that you live locally within the Hampshire area as you will be required to travel to sites that we are working on as well as working within an office 2/3 days per week.
This is a new role that we have created within our building company which specialises in home renovations, extensions and conversions. We would like to offer an all round service from the initial design to the finished build. This is an exciting opportunity for a dynamic architect to join our team and the role will very much be yours to help mould in line with the company and to be a part of the expansion as we build a stronger reputation in this field. You will need to feel confident working independently in this role.
The ideal candidate will possess a strong design sensibility and a comprehensive understanding of architectural principles. This role involves collaborating with clients, engineers, and other stakeholders to develop innovative design solutions that meet both aesthetic and functional requirements. The Architect will play a crucial role in the planning and execution of projects, ensuring that they are completed on time and within budget.
Duties
- Develop architectural designs and plans using software such as AutoCAD, Revit, and Sketchup.
- Collaborate with clients to understand their needs and preferences, translating them into practical design solutions.
- Create detailed drawings, models, and presentations using Adobe Creative Suite, 3ds Max, and NavisWorks.
- Conduct site visits to assess project feasibility and gather information for design development.
- Negotiate project specifications with contractors and suppliers to ensure quality outcomes.
- Ensure compliance with building regulations, safety standards, and environmental considerations throughout the project lifecycle.
- Prepare project documentation including specifications, reports, and presentations for stakeholders.
Experience
- A degree in Architecture is essential.
- Proficiency in architectural software such as AutoCAD, Revit, Sketchup, NavisWorks, Adobe Creative Suite, and 3ds Max is highly desirable.
- Previous experience in architectural design.
- Strong communication skills with the ability to negotiate effectively with clients and contractors.
- A keen eye for detail with the ability to sketch concepts quickly for visual communication.
- Knowledge of current building regulations and sustainable design practices is beneficial.
